Lipidol: Oil cleansers & much more…

If you’ve been on the subway lately, you must’ve noticed posters across different lines with fun colors and different shaped bottles. Yes, that is Lipidol. I didn’t know until fairly recently that Lipidol is a line of cleansing and nourishing oils for face and body created by the makers of Bio-Oil. I’ve used Bio-Oil for clearing and keeping my skin healthy and soft, especially, on my legs. It is supposed to help with skin imperfections and scars while giving your skin a healthy glow. It doesn’t feel ‘oily’ even though it is an oil and it sinks into your skin without leaving much of an oily residue. This is great because neither you or I want to ruin any of our clothing. I know, some of you might be thinking, we already have to deal with ‘natural’ oils leaving our faces shiny throughout the day; is using oil a good idea? The answer is yes.

I’m a huge fan of cleansers that have an oil or milk cream base because they aren’t drying much like their counterparts on the market with a high alcohol content. Alcohol is a drying ingredient which over time, strips your skin away from its healthy oils. I’ve tried a few of the essential oils from the Lipidol Line and here are my thoughts in case you’re on the lookout for some easy to use cleansers and moisturizers. These babies contain a number of plant extracts, are compatible with sensitive skin and are non-comogenic. This means your pores won't be getting clogged. Yay! These products have not been tested on animals, either. Here are details about the two that I have been loving the most and using fairly often.

Lipidol Overnight Oil: The overnight oil acts as a moisturizer for your skin blended with Ylang-Ylang and black pepper extracts. I laid on a few drops of oil and massaged it into my skin before bed. At first, I was skeptical. I didn’t want any oil to transfer onto my pillows and staining anything. Luckily, that didn’t happen and within a few minutes, the oil settled into my face in an invisible face mask fashion. I woke up the next morning with my skin feeling soft and hydrated. I’m not sure if this happens to you but for me, whenever my skincare items aren’t working, my makeup doesn’t apply as smoothly. So, I’m always on the hunt for better skin care items.

Lipidol After Shower Oil: This bottle is a bit bigger as you can see in the picture and the oil is clear. I’ve been using this as an alternative for to a traditional cream as I like to change things up every little bit. I love that all their packaging is spill proof. I mean, it is oil we’re talking about here and oil can get pretty messy. The dry oil formula soaks into the skin instantly and is great to massage yourself with after a long day too. I find the oil light on the skin with a faint chamomile scent to it. You shouldn’t break out and I’ve heard great review from those who have dry skin as I have dry-combination depending on the time of year.

I’ll give the other pieces a try a little later. If you’ve tried any of these oils, let me know. I’d love to hear from you.
